LODI, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say 20 people were hurt, including four seriously, when a semi crashed into a school bus in south central Wisconsin.

Officials say nine injured people were being treated at UW Hospital. State Patrol Sgt. Greg Jenswold says none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

Jensvold says the patrol had been trying to locate the semi after 911 callers reported its operator was driving erratically.

The crash happened Wednesday morning along Interstate 39 near Lodi, about 95 miles (150 kilometers) northwest of Milwaukee. The patrol says the bus was parked on the shoulder after experiencing mechanical problems when it was struck.

Authorities say about 33 people were on the bus. It was carrying students from a private school in the Milwaukee area to the Wisconsin Dells.

Part of the interstate was closed during the investigation but has since reopened.
