SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz Summer League is back at Vivint Arena this year, after a one-year hiatus when the event was moved to the University of Utah's Huntsman Center due to Vivint Arena's renovation.
What's not back, though, are the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics. Those teams both chose not to participate in a second summer league in 2018. Instead, the Atlanta Hawks and the Memphis Grizzlies will join the San Antonio Spurs and the Jazz in the four-team, six-game event from July 2-5, the Jazz announced Wednesday.
The games will take place at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. MT, with the Jazz playing in the later game on all three days. Here's the full schedule:
Monday, July 2
5 p.m. – Atlanta vs. Memphis
7 p.m. – San Antonio vs. Utah
Tuesday, July 3
5 p.m. – Atlanta vs. San Antonio
7 p.m. – Memphis vs. Utah
Wednesday, July 4
No games scheduled
Thursday, July 5
5 p.m. – Memphis vs. San Antonio
7 p.m. – Atlanta vs. Utah
Atlanta and Memphis' participation means that once again, the tournament will feature some top-5 talent from the NBA draft. After Tuesday's lottery, Atlanta owns the No. 3 selection in the draft on June 21, Memphis has pick No. 4. In 2017, Boston's Jayson Tatum and Philadelphia's Markelle Fultz both played well in the summer league, though Jazz guards Donovan Mitchell and Dante Exum stole the show.
The Jazz are also hosting a three-on-three tournament on outdoor courts that they'll set up in the "Park Place," the parking lot across the street from Vivint Arena. They'll also have activities and vendors set up in the Vivint Arena plaza ahead of every game.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. MT, with one-day tickets available for $8 and the full three-day pass available for $15.
