BOUNTIFUL — South Davis Metro Fire reports, as of 3:45 p.m., westbound 1500 South is open, but eastbound lanes remained closed from 50 West to Orchard Drive following the discovery of a gas leak earlier Sunday afternoon.

Three homes and an LDS church in the area have been evacuated, and fire officials say Dominion Energy is on site and has repaired the leak. The leak was first reported about 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the roadway near 75 East and 1500 South.

An update from South Davis Metro Fire said Dominion is working with residents to get them back in their homes.
