JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The Latest on the death of a skier in a Wyoming avalanche. (all times local):
4:50 p.m.
Authorities say a Utah man was killed after triggering an avalanche while skiing just outside the boundary of Wyoming's Jackson Hole ski resort.
The Teton County coroner identified the victim as thirty-year-old Alexander Marra of Orem, Utah, the Jackson Hole News and Guide reported.
He was killed while skiing with a partner in an area known as Rock Springs.
The Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center had issued an advisory Saturday morning warning of a considerable avalanche hazard at upper elevations.
2:30 p.m.
A skier has been killed after triggering an avalanche just outside the boundary of Wyoming's Jackson Hole ski resort.
The Jackson Hole News reports that the 30-year-old male victim was killed Saturday morning in an area known as Rock Springs that's south of the ski area.
The victim was with another skier who was not injured. The identity of the victim was not immediately released by Teton County authorities.
The Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center issued an advisory Saturday morning warning of a considerable avalanche hazard at upper elevations in the area.
A winter storm warning was in effect through Sunday evening.
