MAGNA — An 18-year-old student has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing a younger student on a school bus on the way back from a field trip.

The incident happened last week. The older male student inappropriately touched the younger girl while on the bus, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report.

The students attend Cyprus High School. Granite School District spokesman Ben Horsley said there were more than 40 students and five adults on the bus. Some of the students on the bus, including the arrested man and the alleged victim, are special needs students, he said.

The man was booked into jail for investigation of sexual abuse of a child.
