OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Northern Utah police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old woman whose young daughter was found alone at a park.
Ogden Police Lt. Clint Christensen says someone found the girl in her pajamas at the park on Wednesday evening and called police.
The Deseret News reports the child is about 3 or 4 -years-old and told police her mom was "at home laying down."
Police found the home's front door open and the mother inside.
Christensen says police believe the mother had died about 15 to 20 hours earlier because of a medical problem.
The girl is in custody of state child welfare officials.
