KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has announced the addition of wide receiver Alontae Taylor, giving the Volunteers a total of 13 newcomers from this week's early signing period.
Taylor joins defensive tackles Greg Emerson and Brant Lawless, junior-college tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson and offensive tackle Jerome Carvin as Tennessee signees rated as four-star prospects according to composite rankings of recruiting sites compiled by 247Sports .
New Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt accepted the job two weeks ago and has been recruiting for the Volunteers while maintaining his role as Alabama's defensive coordinator through the Crimson Tide's playoff run.
Carvin, Wood-Anderson, junior-college defensive end Jordan Allen, running back Jeremy Banks and quarterback JT Shrout hadn't verbally committed to Tennessee before signing with the Vols this week.
Shrout had been committed to California before switching to Tennessee.
