SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Legislature has hired a human resources administrator.
Debbie Cragun, the executive director of the Utah Department of Human Resource Management, will start the new job Jan. 15.
“The Legislature recognized more than a year ago the importance of hiring a human resources professional given the increasing complexity of employment law,” said Senate President Wayne Niederhauser, R-Sandy.
Cragun, who has 25 years of experience in the field, will oversee the Legislature’s human resources operations, management and strategies.
"A highly qualified HR manager is key to protecting our employees, managers and the legislative institution itself,” said House Speaker Greg Hughes, R-Draper. “Debbie is an excellent fit and will be a great partner."
