Radford uses big 2nd half to beat VMI 63-50

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — Ed Polite Jr. had 14 points and 12 rebounds, Devonnte Holland added 10 points and eight boards, and Radford beat VMI 63-50 on Saturday.

It was Polite's second straight double-double and third of the season.

Polite scored nine of Radford's first 14 points and the Highlanders led 30-26 at the break. A 14-2 run in the first four minutes of the second half made it 48-33 and Travis Fields Jr.'s second steal and layup of the game put Radford ahead 57-44.

Fields added nine points on 4-of-10 shooting for Radford (4-3). The Highlanders used their height advantage to outscore the Keydets 42-16 in the paint.

Bubba Parham led VMI (3-4) with 14 points. Austin Vereen made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points. The Keydets were just 17-of-54 shooting (32 percent).
