(KSL News) Deer hunters are heading for the hills for tomorrow's general season deer hunt. But The Salt Lake Tribune reports the number of deer hunters has fallen significantly in Utah over the last 20 years.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) notes in 1988, about 248,000 hunters harvested more than 90,000 deer. In 2006, about 88,000 hunters killed about 31,000 deer.

Tom Wharton wrote that story for the Tribune. He joined us to discuss this issue in tonight's Talking Point.
