(KSL News) A parole fugitive is tasered three times by police after refusing to give up following a high speed chase.
West Valley City officers pulled over the suspect. After asking him several questions, the officers realized he was giving false information.
Sgt. John Pierce, West Valley City Police Dept.: "The suspect became panicked, began to drive away and swerved at an officer that was on foot. It appeared that he did attempt to hit him with the car."
After a short chase, the driver ended up on a dead end street and took off on foot. Officers caught up with him near 2700 West 4100 South and deployed the tasers.
They found checks in his truck that weren't his. He's now in the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of forgery and identity theft, and attempted assault on an officer.
