Runnin' Utes Picked Fourth In Preseason MWC Media Poll

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The University of Utah men's basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Preseason Mountain West Conference Media Poll, the conference office announced at the league's media day in Las Vegas Tuesday.

Utah received 148 points in the poll. UNLV (206) was chosen as the top team in the media poll, receiving 16 first-place votes. BYU (181) and San Diego State (170) were the other two teams picked ahead of the Utes.

The Utes enter the 2008-09 campaign following their first winning season since 2004-05, as they went 18-15 under first-year head coach Jim Boylen. Boylen's inaugural season at the helm marked a seven-game turnaround from the 11-19 mark posted in 2006-07.
