(KSL News) A family in Ogden trying to keep warm with a fire ended up almost burning down their house.
Fire officials say one family member tried to start a fire in the fireplace early this morning, but the flames spread outside the hearth and spread to the rest of the house.
By the time firefighters arrived on the scene the flames had spread through more than half the home.
All of the people inside were able to get out safely. One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
