WACO, Texas (AP) — Suspended Baylor defensive back Travon Blanchard is free on bond after his arrest on a misdemeanor assault charge. The charge stems from domestic violence allegations by a former girlfriend that led to his suspension from the football team five months ago. The university says Blanchard's status with the team is unchanged. The senior has been suspended since February, when the woman's request for a protective order against him was granted by a court.
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Oklahoma State's Zach Sinor is already getting a kick out of his Heisman Trophy campaign. The 5-foot-10 punter has a website with some cool classic graphics. He even handed out colorful pamphlets during Big 12 football media days that touted his credentials for college football's top individual award. Mason Rudolph, 22-6 as the Cowboys starting quarterback and a top Heisman contender himself, says he's 100 percent supporting Sinor.
