LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) — The pairings for the 2017 Maui Invitational have been announced and Wichita State and Notre Dame lead the brackets. Wichita State will face California while Marquette meets VCU in another quarterfinal. Notre Dame will play host Division II Chaminade and Michigan meets LSU in the other bracket.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The annual Hall of Fame Classic will include UCLA, Baylor, Wisconsin and Creighton in a men's basketball showcase this November. The Badgers and Bears will meet in a semifinal matchup at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on Nov. 20, following UCLA against Creighton.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says the club is still gathering details over Ezekiel Elliott's involvement in an altercation at a Dallas bar, the latest off-field incident for the star running back. Elliott was already facing a potential suspension over the NFL's investigation of a year-old domestic case. The latest dispute involves a man getting punched in the nose Sunday night. Dallas police said the 30-year-old man didn't know who punched him, and the report does not mention Elliott.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota softball coach Jessica Allister, who steered the Gophers to a 56-5 record and top national ranking this year, is leaving for Stanford. Minnesota announced Allister's move back to her alma mater. Allister was Big Ten coach of the year as the Gophers made their fifth straight NCAA tournament in her seven seasons at the school.
