GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — Vic Wilkerson has resigned as head football coach at Campbell County High School.

Wilkerson had been the Camels head coach for the last 13 seasons, compiling a 110-35 record and winning Class 4A state titles in 2006 and 2008.

Wilkerson confirmed his resignation in a text message Monday to the Gillette News Record (http://bit.ly/2u5cwCU ). He declined to elaborate on his decision.

Micah Christensen, who has served as a Camels assistant for several years, has been named to replace Wilkerson.

The change comes less than a month before the start of the Wyoming Class 4A football season, as Gillette transitions to having to high schools. Thunder Basin High School opens next month.
