MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a woman has died in a residential fire in Moscow. Moscow city officials say police officers and firefighters responded to the blaze on the 1000 block of Camas Street on Tuesday and found heavy smoke coming from the home.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Supreme Court has upheld Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter's contentious veto of legislation repealing the state's 6 percent sales tax on groceries. Earlier this year, 30 state lawmakers filed a lawsuit claiming Otter took too long to veto the grocery tax repeal because he waited longer than 10 days as outlined in the Idaho Constitution.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say human bones found protruding from a badger hole in southwestern Idaho are hundreds of years old and not connected to a crime. The remains were discovered in April in high desert sagebrush steppe by state fish and game workers who stumbled across the bones while out on a routine patrol. Initially authorities treated the discovery as a possible homicide, but Elmore County Sheriff Mike Hollinshead said Tuesday carbon dating showed the remains were from between 1436 and 1632.

Idaho Department of Administration Facilities Manager Ric Johnston in a statement Tuesday says the agency needs more candidates for the official Idaho Capitol Christmas Tree.
