After Bingham and East each won state titles last season with 14-0 records, there were brief discussions about the marquee programs playing exhibition games against each other in December.
It never materialized, however, as Bingham accepted an invitation to play in a pre-Christmas bowl game in Frisco, Texas, against St. Thomas Aquinas, Florida, in a nationally-televised game.
This season, high school football fans in Utah won’t have to hope for an unlikely exhibition game to see Bingham and East square off.
