SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities in southern Utah say the town of Kanab has been dealing with flooding after being hit by sudden heavy rainfall.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/2ua1Shk) that the Kane County Sheriff's Office issued a call for people to come help fill sandbags after at least an inch of rain fell Sunday night. The surrounding area also got 2 inches of rain.
Officials shared a warning from the National Weather Service saying that most flash flooding deaths occur in vehicles and urging drivers not to try to drive through flooded roads.
