MIAMI (AP) — Chris Bosh has published a thank-you letter to the city of Miami and its basketball fans, days after his Heat career officially ended. Bosh was waived by the Heat last week, ending a long saga about how his battles with blood clots would affect his status with the team.

LOS ANGELES (AP) —The Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw has made 12 consecutive starts without a loss and is 9-0 with a 2.19 ERA since May 1. The left-hander is the first 13-game winner in the majors this season. While he's an All-Star, he's not eligible to pitch in this year's game because he's starting today against Kansas City.

CHICAGO (AP) — Baseball's reigning champions will head into the All-Star break with a .500 record at best. A loss Saturday night to the Pirates left them at 43 and 44, six and a-half games behind the Central Division-leading Milwaukee Brewers. The Bucs and Cubs are back at it already this afternoon at Wrigley.

CHAMBERY, France (AP) — Chris Froome clings to the overall lead in the Tour de France after a day of punishing climbs in eastern France's Jura mountains in which he lost a top rival to a terrifying high-speed crash. Richie Porte missed a left-hand bend, cartwheeled across the road and bowled over another rider, Dan Martin, before slamming into a grassy bank on the day's final descent.

LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Wayne Rooney has left Manchester United after 13 years. The 31-year-old rejoins Everton. Roony moved from Everton to United for 27 million pounds in 2004 and went on to become United's all-time top scorer.
