WEISER, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a west-central Idaho man has died after a farm tractor ran over him. Washington County Sheriff Matt Thomas tells KTVB-TV that 69-year-old Lynn Evans of Weiser died July 4. Thomas says Evans had just put a new motor in the tractor in his repair shop when it apparently slipped into gear and ran over him.

KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — Officials in the central Idaho tourist town of Ketchum have passed an ordinance banning gas stations on Main Street. The Idaho Mountain Express reports that the city council on Monday unanimously approved the ban and waived a provision requiring the ordinance be read at two more council meetings.

LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Prosecutors in northern Idaho say they will retry a man after the Idaho Supreme Court ruled he's entitled to a new trial following a murder conviction. Idaho County Prosecutor Kirk MacGregor tells the Lewiston Tribune that his office is ready to retry Mark Lankford.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police say the state's crime rate remained mostly stable last year. The Crime in Idaho report shows that there were more than 5,000 crimes reported for every 100,000 Idaho residents in 2016, though drug crimes showed an increase of more than 15 percent.
