Associated Press contributed to this report(KSL News) Utah's growth shows no signs of slowing. A new report from the Utah Foundation says that if current population growth continues, the state will have close to seven million residents by the year 2060.

That is almost triple the number currently living in the state. Utah's current population is about 2.6 million.

Saratoga Springs in Utah County currently leads the state in growth, with 37 percent increase in residents since 2007.

Herriman and Eagle Mountain follow with increases of about 30 percent.

The Utah Foundation report says that as the population grows, transportation, education and law enforcement will likely be the most important issues facing the state.

The Utah Foundation's 2008 Utah Priorities Survey, released Thursday, says growth will strain state resources, from transportation corridors to classrooms and the water supply.

Fifty-two percent of respondents to the January survey say they think the state is growing too fast. Another 42 percent say the growth rate is "about right."

The foundation says that in most years Utah's high birthrate outpaces migration as the main cause of population growth.

Survey respondents said the state's water supply was their primary concern among growth-related issues. Other top concerns were traffic, school crowding and crime.
