Dow Jones names online unit president

NEW YORK (AFX) - Publisher Dow Jones & Co. said Wednesday it named Gordon McLeod president of its Dow Jones Online business.

McLeod, 48, will be responsible for the company's Internet businesses, including The Wall Street Journal Online, MarketWatch.com and Barron's Online. The appointments are effective Sept. 11.

Previously, McLeod worked as general manager at Time Inc. Interactive, where he developed Web sites for Time publications. Prior to working at Time, he served as senior vice president and executive producer for Grey Entertainment, a division of Grey Advertising.
