(KSL News) -- It was the first day of school for districts across the state and that means there will be more kids on the road. With kids walking to and from school, officials want to remind drivers to keep an eye out.
They say drivers need to obey the speed limit and watch the cross walks, and parents dropping their kids off need to be careful too.
David Stephenson, Alpine Elementary School: "Be sure to drop off at the curb. Sometimes we're tempted to save a few seconds by letting our child out on the road rather than dropping of right at the road."
School officials also asks parents that walk with their children to cross at crosswalks, to help teach kids good habits.
