SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Matt Harpring won't be joining his Utah Jazz teammates at training camp.
Harpring is still recovering after an infection put him in the hospital over the summer. Harpring says he got a strep infection about a week after having surgery to remove a bone spur in his right ankle.
He says the infection kept him in the hospital for several days. Then after the infection cleared, the antibiotics Harpring was taking made him sick for another week.
Harpring says it's been a long process, but his ankle is getting back to normal. He will spend this week working with personal trainers in Santa Barbara, Calif., while the rest of the Jazz go through training camp, which starts Tuesday in Boise, Idaho.
