(KSL News) The Department of Defense is expected to announce punishment today for six Air Force and Army generals involved in a mistaken shipment of missile parts from Hill Air Force Base.
The Salt Lake Tribune quotes a senior defense official who says the punishment could be career-ending for those involved. It's unclear whether the disciplinary actions today will include any Hill officials.
It stems from the mistaken shipment of ballistic missile fuses instead of helicopter batteries to Taiwan. An investigation of the incident found that Hill employees violated protocol in shipping the supplies.
