COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina and Arizona State are both much different teams than they were earlier in the season as they meet Sunday in the NCAA Tournament second round.
The No. 1 seed Gamecocks are still adjusting to smaller lineups with center Alaina Coates out with an ankle injury.
Arizona State coach Charli Turner Thorne says her team is playing the best it has now that all their players are healthy.
The Gamecocks and Sun Devils aren't completely unknown to each other. South Carolina beat Arizona State 60-58 last season.
The Sun Devils starting frontcourt went 5-for-16 from the field. Quinn Dornstauder got 10 stiches and Kelsey Moos suffered a concussion.
A'ja Wilson led South Carolina with 18 points, including the winning free throws with less than a second left in overtime.
