POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Federal authorities are confirming that a cyanide trap intended to kill coyotes in eastern Idaho instead killed a dog in an incident the local sheriff also says injured a 14-year-old boy. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says in a statement Friday that workers placed the device that activated Thursday.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho House legislative leaders have introduced a last-minute health care plan to provide basic services the state's neediest population. The House Ways and Means Committee, made up solely of Republic and Democratic leaders, unanimously agreed to usher in the plan on Friday.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter says Idaho lawmakers should not repeal the state's grocery tax, adding that he sees no reason to change the current system. Otter sent a letter to House Speaker Scott Bedke and Senate President Pro Tem Brent Hill Thursday stating his opposition just after the Senate surprised legislative leadership by rewriting a tax cut plan to repeal the 6 percent sales tax on groceries.
