COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho man suspected of killing his former fiancee before later apparently killing himself had been released from jail on a $10,000 bond and a no-contact order with the woman. A Kootenai County sheriff's deputy spotted 61-year-old Steven Denson's vehicle Thursday and heard a muffled gunshot after cutting off his escape route.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho Falls man who won an appeal declaring a mistrial when he was convicted of molesting three girls was once again convicted of the offense. The Post Register reports that 56-year-old Jeffrey Dunn was convicted on Thursday of three counts of lewd conduct with a child younger than 16 after a jury spent three days hearing his retrial.

SUN VALLEY, Idaho (AP) — Officials have approved a request by Sun Valley Resort to remodel the Sun Valley Inn and expand it by 17,000 square feet. The Idaho Mountain Express said the Sun Valley Planning and Zoning Commission signed off on the plan Thursday. The project will include renovating guest rooms and is expected to start in September and be finished by June 2018.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two sweeping transportation funding proposals were introduced in the Idaho Legislature on Friday, providing a first look at what legislative leaders will spend their time doing in the final weeks of the session. However, the proposals introduced in the Senate are unlikely to be passed without facing significant edits in the House.
