PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Vytautas Andriuskevicius won't play when the Portland Timbers visit the LA Galaxy on Sunday because of an injured calf.
The defender known as Vytas is out seven to 10 days, Timbers coach Caleb Porter said Thursday.
Alvas Powell has an ankle sprain and defender Liam Ridgewell has a foot sprain. Both players are considered day-to-day and their availability for Sunday had not been determined.
Porter said defender Marco Farfan, a homegrown player, would make his debut for the team against the Galaxy. At 18, Farfan would be the youngest player to appear in a game for the Timbers.
Portland could also see the debut of defender Roy Miller, acquired in January from Costa Rica's Deportivo Saprissa. Although he just arrived this week, Miller could be ready to go right away because he's in game shape and has prior MLS experience, Porter said.
