The Zags have a quarterfinal meeting against Pacific in Las Vegas as they try to bounce back from their only loss of the season. The Bulldogs were in line to become the first Division I men's team in two years to run the table on the regular season until the Cougars knocked them off, 79-71 last Saturday.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs look to expand their lead in the NBA's Southwest Division when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. The Spurs are 47-13 following last night's 101-98 overtime win at New Orleans. San Antonio enters the game leading its division by five games over the Houston Rockets, who are home against the Memphis Grizzlies.
UNDATED (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks are on the road at Nashville, one night after the Hawks pulled out a 2-1 shootout win over the New York Islanders. The Blackhawks are one point behind the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Wild, who have the night off. Also in the NHL, the Washington Capitals will seek to extend their team-record home winning streak to 15 games when they host Philadelphia.
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Rory McIlroy is carrying the lead into the third round of the WGC Mexico Championship. McIlroy fired a 6-under 65 that put him two strokes ahead of Phil Mickelson, Ross Fisher and Justin Thomas. The Irishman will move to the top of the world rankings if he wins the tournament.
SINGAPORE (AP) — Michelle Wie leads the LPGA's Women's Champions tournament by two strokes after shooting a 5-under 67 in the third round. The American followed up her previous rounds of 66 and 69 to reach 14-under 202. It's the first time she has led an LPGA event after 54 holes since she won the 2014 U.S. Open. No. 1-ranked Lydia Ko birdied the last hole for a 67, putting her in a tie for second with Ariya Jutanugarn (ahr-EE'-uh juh-TAN'-uh-garn) and Park Sung-Hyun.
