Washington takes the court against the Raptors, who had won four in a row before dropping a 105-96 decision to the Wizards in Toronto.
CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled goaltender Jeff Glass from Rockford of the American Hockey League. Glass will back up Corey Crawford for tonight's game against the New York Islanders. Scott Darling, who made 36 stops in Wednesday night's 4-1 victory against Pittsburgh, has been ruled out with an upper-body injury.
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — UConn's dominance on the court has carried over to postseason awards for the American Athletic Conference. Sophomores Katie Lou Samuelson and Napheesa Collier have been named the conference's co-players of the year in voting by the league's coaches. The teammates each averaged more than 20 points a game in leading the Huskies to a 29-0 regular season. UConn enters this weekend's conference tournament having never lost a regular-season or postseason game in four-year history of the AAC. GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Brett Lawrie has been put on waivers by the Chicago White Sox, who plan to release the infielder. Unless Lawrie is claimed, he would receive $573,770 in termination pay rather than the $3.5 million salary in the non-guaranteed contract he agreed to in December. The 27-year-old was acquired in a December 2015 trade with Oakland. He hit .248 with 12 homers and 36 RBIs in 94 games in his only season with the White Sox.
UNDATED (AP) — The NCAA rules committee wants to make it illegal to hurdle linemen to block a kick and expand what constitutes a horse-collar tackle. It decided against tinkering with the targeting rule to eliminate the ejection penalty for some of the fouls. The rules committee also proposed requiring players to wear knee pads and pants that cover the knees. All proposals still need approval from the Playing Rules Oversight Panel, which meets April 19. If approved, the changes would go into effect next season.
