WASHINGTON (AP) — As the nation's governors get ready to meet with President Donald Trump today, there's a new report warning them about the consequences of repealing the health care law. The report by the consulting firms Avalere Health and McKinsey & Company says changes under consideration by House Republicans would significantly reduce federal dollars for Medicaid and subsidized private insurance. Medicaid expansion and subsidized health insurance cover more than 20 million people.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate votes tonight on President Donald Trump's pick for Commerce secretary. And billionaire investor Wilbur Ross is headed for confirmation after easily clearing the Senate Commerce Committee and a procedural vote by the full Senate. Ross says the Trump administration will work quickly to re-do the North American Free Trade Agreement, a massive trade pact with Canada and Mexico that has boosted trade but still stings laid-off workers across the Midwest.

DETROIT (AP) — Japanese auto parts maker Takata is expected to appear in federal court in Detroit this afternoon to plead guilty in the faulty air bag scandal. Company representatives agreed last month to plead guilty to one count of wire fraud and pay a $1 billion penalty to concealing the problem. Takata air bag inflators can explode with too much force, sending shrapnel flying. At least 16 people have been killed worldwide and more than 180 have been hurt.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — What happened last night at the Academy Awards when the wrong winner for Best Picture was announced? Presenter Warren Beatty paused after opening the envelope, and then showed it to co-presenter and actress Faye Dunaway, who announced "La La Land" as the winner. But the real winner was "Moonlight," and the confusion wasn't straightened out until most of the "La La Land" team gave their acceptance speeches. The Oscar tabulators say they'll investigate what happened.

UNDATED (AP) — The former Spokane, Washington, NAACP leader who resigned in 2015 after being accused of being a white woman passing herself off as black says she's close to being homeless. Rachel Dolezal (DOH'-leh-zhahl) tells Britain's The Guardian newspaper that she can't find a job and that the only work she's been offered is in reality TV and porn.
