Read KSL's Take here PROVO, Utah (Sept. 17, 2008) - BYU head football coach Bronco Mendenhall announced Wednesday evening that senior wide receiver Michael Reed will be out 2-4 weeks to allow for the full recovery of a knee injury sustained Saturday against UCLA. An MRI conducted Monday revealed a meniscus tear in Reed's right knee. Reed tried to practice with the injury this week but determined Wednesday evening to undergo arthroscopic surgery to give him the best opportunity to heal and return at full strength. He will have surgery on Thursday.
The 6-foot-1 Baytown, Texas, native is tied for third on the team with 16 catches during BYU's wins over for Northern Iowa, Washington and UCLA.
After hosting Wyoming Saturday, BYU has a bye week before facing Utah State on Oct. 3 in Logan, Utah, and New Mexico on Oct. 11 in Provo, Utah.
