The 11th ranked BYU Cougars have the nations longest winning streak and have won 14 straight games at home. Now, they welcome Wyoming to LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday. The Cowboys have not won in Provo since 1987.
As the Cougars open conference play they are getting plenty of attention from the national media. Max Hall has been on ESPN and Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall was on the Jim Rome show, but if you want to find the real reason for success they will tell you to talk to the offensive line. They are one of the best units in the country. After three games they are yet to get a holding penalty or give up an official sack.
"The offensive line is playing at the highest level since I have been a coach any place including BYU," said Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall. "I think that is the catalyst to our success. I think when you watch our offensive line play, and I am not sure how much attention it is receiving but as far as I am concerned that is where our team is grounded, where the fundamentals start and our identity begins."
