SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Jordan Davis scored 21 points and DJ Miles added 11 as Northern Colorado dominated Sacramento State from the outset and beat the Hornets 69-53 Thursday night in the Big Sky Conference opener for both teams.

Davis converted a 3-point play to give Northern Colorado a 19-7 lead and the Bears never trailed. Jonah Radebaugh hit a 3 with 7:46 before halftime to give the Bears a 30-12 lead.

Northern Colorado (5-7) led 39-25 at the break.

Justin Strings' jumper brought Sacramento State (3-9) to within 10 before Chaz Glotta hit a 3 and a layup, Davis made back-to-back layups and DJ Miles' 3 made the score 53-31 with 13:46 left.

Strings led Sacramento State with 13 points, Nick Hornsby corralled 10 boards, and Marcus Graves had eight assists.

The Bears outrebounded Sacramento State 53-35. It was Northern Colorado's first road win this season.
