Weber State quarterback CAMERON HIGGINS (6-2, 195 Soph. / Hawai'i Kai, Oahu, Hawai'i) has been named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the Big Sky Conference. He shares the award with Montana wide receiver Mark Mariani who had eight receptions for 208 yards and four touchdowns in UM's 46-10 home field win over Southern Utah.
Higgins completed 18-23 passes for 333 yards and a career high five touchdown passes in WSU's 44-7 home field win over Dixie State College. He began the game with 14 straight completions, six shy of the school mark of 20 straight set in 1976 by Rod Bockwoldt. Four of his five TD tosses came in the first half as the 'Cats built up a 34-7 halftime lead. Three of the five TD catches were by tight end Cody Nakamura who had a career high five receptions for a career high 85 yards. Those were Nakamura's first career touchdown catches at Weber State. Higgins also had five rushing yards giving him 338 total offensive yards.
