Police in Sandy still are investigating the disappearance of a teenager which triggered an Amber Alert over the weekend. The girl was found, but there are still many unanswered questions.

Police are trying to piece together what happened during the 24 hours that Robyn Atkinson was missing. A spokesperson couldn't say whether any charges will be filed against the 17-year-old boy she was with.

Atkinson's father reported the 16-year-old girl missing on Friday after school. Her disappearance was concerning because she has a learning disability. She did leave her dad a note, but it was hard to understand. Police say she does not read or write at her age level.

A spokesperson for the Sandy Police Department says detectives are still collecting evidence and interviewing everyone involved. They won't say how Robyn knows the 17-year-old or any of the circumstances involving her disappearance.

We talked to Robyn's father, Brandon Atkinson, today. He declined to give us any information about his daughter's disappearance because it's under investigation, but he did say Robyn went to Alta High School for a football game. When she realized the game was actually at Hunter High, she tried to get a ride there.

"As a family, we just want to make sure the community knows we appreciate them so, so much," he said.

Sandy police spokesman Victor Quezada explained, "We're chronologically going backwards to find out the timeline, what she was doing, who she was with, was she there on her own free will."

When the search for Robyn began, about 150 federal, state and local law enforcement officers began looking for the teen. They are part of the Utah Attorney General's Child Abduction Response Team (CART). Sandy's police chief activated CART before an Amber Alert was issued. And it was a tip that went to CART members that led them to Robyn.

Robyn's father says she was back at school today and is doing well.
