TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Tunisia's Interior Ministry says police have arrested Anis Amri's nephew and two others suspected of belonging to the same extremist network. Amri is suspected of driving a truck into a Christmas market crowd in Berlin, killing 12. Turkish authorities say he had sent his 18-year-old nephew money to join him in Europe. After fleeing from Germany and through France, Amri was shot dead by Italian police in Milan on Friday.
ROME (AP) — A casket containing the body of the Italian victim of the truck attack on a Christmas market in Berlin has arrived in Rome. Fabrizia di Lorenzo was killed with 11 others when an attacker drove a truck into a crowded Christmas market in the heart of Berlin. Italian President Sergio Mattarella was on hand for the arrival. Di Lorenzo had been living in Berlin and went to the Christmas market to buy presents.
BEIJING (AP) — Amid tensions with the U.S. and Taiwan, the Chinese military says its first aircraft carrier group has carried out a series of fighter launch, recovery and air combat exercises in the Yellow Sea. China's Defense Ministry announced that the carrier group is scheduled to continue exercises farther afield. It did not specify where.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The parents of a college student who died in Oakland's deadly warehouse fire have filed the first lawsuit in connection with the disaster. The suit blames the building's owner, chief tenant and others. Michela Gregory was one of 36 people killed when fire broke out in the converted warehouse that was the scene of a music performance and party.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actress-author Carrie Fisher is being treated in an intensive care unit in Los Angeles after suffering a serious medical emergency while on a flight from London. Her brother, Todd Fisher, tells The Associated Press he can't specify his sister's condition, and says much of what's been reported is speculation. Celebrity website TMZ says Carrie Fisher may have suffered a heart attack.
