WEST JORDAN — UTA's TRAX Redline in West Jordan reopened Friday afternoon after a freight train derailment closed the line earlier in the day.

Several cars of the Utah Railway Regional Freight Train came off the tracks near 4000 W. Old Bingham Highway, according to Remi Barron with UTA.

No injuries were reported.

The derailment was close enough to the TRAX Redline that UTA could not use the tracks until the freight cars were returned to their own tracks. UTA put a bus bridge in place between 4000 West and Fashion Place Mall.

TRAX trains resumed normal service around 2:30 p.m. but residual delays were expected, UTA said.
