SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Salt Lake City man is accused of killing a man last month when he tried to kick unwanted guests out of his apartment.
Thirty-four-year-old Leroy Daniel Valdez was charged Wednesday with homicide and obstructing justice in the death of 33-year-old Kenonran Quentin Goodman.
He's in jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. It's unclear whether he has a lawyer.
Police say Valdez kicked in the front door of his apartment on Nov. 26 with plans to force some people to leave. He told police that his roommate had been inviting people over and he didn't like them.
Valdez told police that he was grabbed as he entered the apartment and his gun went off during the struggle. Goodman was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head.
