MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Jeremy Hollowell scored 20 points as Georgia State edged Middle Tennessee 64-56 on Wednesday night.

Hollowell was 6 of 17 from the field including four from distance for the Panthers (7-4). Jeff Thomas added 15 points on five 3-pointers and Malik Benlevi had eight points and led the team with 10 rebounds.

Hollowell drained three 3-pointers to give the Panthers a 15-3 start and Thomas sank three more in the final 6:40 to help them to a 33-25 lead at the break.

Georgia State led throughout the second half. Middle Tennessee got as close as seven, 50-43, on a JaCorey Williams jumper with 6:52 to play but a Jordan Session dunk and Thomas' final 3-pointer with 3:36 left helped keep the Panthers on top.

Giddy Potts scored 19 points with six boards and six steals for the Blue Raiders (10-3).
