Markets were down all over the world when Grant and Amanda went on the air. They went live to London to talk with London Marketwatch Bureau Chief Steve Goldstein. Steve reviewed the possible bailout of Lehman Brothers by British bank Barclays. He also said London markets were down about 4%, certainly not something to celebrate, but perhaps less than was expected. Click here to hear more from Steve.
KSL went live to Wall Street when the markets opened this morning and stayed there for 10 minutes. At the opening bell, the markets all started to head downward. In the first ten minutes, the DOW had dropped 100 points. It lost another 178 points in the following five minutes.
"You can't be the shiny new thing for two months." ABC Political Consultant Steve Roberts talks about Sarah Palin's amazing burst onto the American political scene. Never in Steve's long career has he seen a politician come on this strong this quickly, but he notes that you can't be the new fresh face for two months. Eventually the bloom will come off the rose - and then it will depend on substance. The world will be watching this Vice Presidential debate perhaps more than at any other time.
