THIS IS LANE BEATTIE, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the four Salt Lake winners of the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. ARUP Laboratories, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, McKinnon-Mulherin Inc., and Radius Engineering, Inc. were honored last week at the Women’s Business Day Luncheon.

According to Zions Bank, Utah’s unemployment rate was unchanged from March to April at 4.8 percent. The U.S. unemployment rate remained at 5.2 percent.

Come to Business After Hours on May 26 at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, and be one of the first to see the Zoo’s new Elephant Encounter exhibit. It’s all part of the Chamber’s monthly networking event and includes great food, fun, and prizes. To register, see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
