The 20th-ranked Middies are seeking the first conference championship in the program's 136-year history and could be headed to the Cotton Bowl with a victory.
ATLANTA (AP)— Top-ranked Alabama and coach Nick Saban are chasing history in today's SEC championship at the Georgia Dome (4 p.m. Eastern kickoff). Saban needs three more wins to secure his fifth national title in 10 seasons with the Crimson Tide and sixth championship overall, which would equal Bear Bryant for the most by any college coach.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP)— Third-ranked Clemson can earn a spot in the College Football Playoff with a victory over 19th-ranked Virginia Tech tonight (8 p.m. Eastern). The 11-1 Tigers are 10-point favorites over the upstart Hokies and QB Deshaun Watson can improve his Heisman Trophy hopes with a big performance.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)_Sixth-ranked Wisconsin meets No. 8 Penn State in the Big Ten Championship (8:17 p.m. Eastern kickoff) in Indianapolis. And tonight's winner will boost its chances of an invite to the four-team College Football Playoff, though that is not guaranteed with a couple of two-loss teams playing.
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (AP)— In a regular season matchup, 14th-ranked West Virginia is a whopping 17-point favorite at home tonight when it plays 6-5 Baylor, which has lost five straight. West Virginia is going after its first 10-win season since 2011.
