DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) — Rye swept to the lead in the stretch and went on to a 2 ½-length victory in the $53,000 feature Friday at Del Mar.

Ridden by Kent Desormeaux, Rye ran 1 3/8 on turf in 2:15.58 and paid $11.20, $5.20 and $3.60 at 9-2 odds.

Site Read returned $5.20 and $3.40, while Oscar Dominguez was another head back in third and paid $6.60 to show.

Danas Best, the 7-2 favorite, finished sixth in the 10-horse field.

Desormeaux rode three winners on the card, sweeping all three races run on turf.

Bill Morey, who trains Rye, also had two other winners.
