(KSL News) The Transportation Security Administration today remembered the events that brought about its creation.
One hundred TSA officers gathered at the Salt Lake International Airport to reaffirm their oath of office to protect the traveling public. They also rolled out their new uniforms, which we'll now see at all airports across the country.
The TSA is a smaller force, but better trained than when it started in September 2002.
Supervisor Randy Glenn said, "Every one of them can remember where they were on 9/11. It's always on our minds. So we follow the old cliché, ‘Not on my watch.'"
This week two dozen transportation security officers from Salt Lake City deployed to airports in the region affected by the recent hurricanes. They will cover shifts at those airports so regular workers can focus on the needs of their families.
