THIS IS LANE BEATTIE, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

A survey conducted for the University of Phoenix found that the hottest job sectors are Healthcare, Education, Computer Systems, Sales, Business, and Financial. Seventy-four percent polled expect continued job growth in these fields, but 65 percent said that there is a shortage of skilled candidates to fill these new positions. The survey also found that employers are looking for these top four attributes in new employees: Attitude and Chemistry. Willingness to learn new things. Works well with a team. And, Creativity in problem solving.

On Thursday, February 17th, University of Phoenix and the Salt Lake Chamber are proud to present former co-anchor of The Early Show, Jane Clayson, in a special luncheon at the Little America Hotel. She will speak on “Career Agility in an Uncertain World.” To register, see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
