WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities are investigating after a shooting outside a West Valley City apartment complex left one man dead.
Police say they responded to reports of a shooting early Sunday to find 25-year-old Byron Williams with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and later died.
A 26-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder and other charges in connection with William's death.
West Valley Police Lt. Steve Burke says the suspect and victim knew each other and had been friends at one point.
The shooting remains under investigation.
