(KSL News) The Salt Lake County Attorney's Office has ruled a West Valley City police officer who shot and killed a man last month was justified in his actions.
Richard Jackson had taken his ex-wife hostage and was holding a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her when Officer Tyler Longman shot him in the head.
An investigation into the shooting found Longman was justified in using deadly force since he had warned Jackson and since public safety was jeopardized.
